Tri Missions USA who were ranked 7th during the season took on the Wet Sox in the final and were down 7-0 after 2 innings but rallied and made a game out of it. In the 6th they scored 10 runs to go ahead for good and took the victory 12-7.

The Weekday League expanded to 5 teams and thus had to play games on both Wednesday and Thursdays. The Desperados had a good first season but the Greenhorns and the Attnang Expats found themselves in the final after a close regular season. The Greenhorns edged out the Expats in the Championship for their first ever Championship.

The 2009 season changed format from 2008, there were 2 league however there was no A and B, simply a Weekend League and a Thursday night league. Also in 2009 there was the first ever Fall League

In the Weekend League the big surprise was that the regular season leaders, Les Boys, were taken out of the playoffs in the semi finals. Congratulations to the Prater Bombers who came from 6th place in the league to become the Champions, while knocking off the first ranked Les Boys, the third ranked AIS and then the 4th ranked Red Soxs along the way.

In the Thursday League Championship game the Attnang Expats took on BLOSS SO.

Attnang got out to an early lead scoring 5 runs in the 4th inning (of 9) and going up 7-3. Although BLOSS SO looked down they did not give up and scored 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the 6th. Good defence by both teams prevailed in the last 3 innings as no team could manage another run leaving BLOSS SO ahead 8-7 and the winners of the first ever STAHL Slowpitch Thursday League!

In the A league 4 teams played close hard games all season while the 5th, a little overmatched, managed to go winless over the 8 regular saeson games. In a full final day, Team Japan came back from an earlier loss to the Caribes to beat them in the Championship game to win their 3rd straight Championship! 3rd place went to Les Boys.

In the B league the competition was also evenly matched with only a very small distinction between the top few teams and the bottom few. The Final of the B League saw the Prater Bombers edge by the American International School for the Championship, with the Gorillas taking the bronze.

The Homerun Champ was Ken Norman(RedSox) with 7, while 2007 champ Alois Heigl and Steve Amundson finished a close second with 6.

The 2007 Spenadlwiese Slowpitch League had 11 teams competing for the title, up 4 from 2007. From the early stages of the season an upper and lower tier was clear, which lead to a splitting and an A and B playoff. In the B playoff the Wanderers took the title but all of the excitement was in the A final. The Caribes, Team Japan and the Les Boys were all in it to win it and for the second season in a row Team Japan took it home. 2007 also had a Home Run Champion and in a close race one cousin, Alois Heigl edged out another, Carlos Heigl.

  2006

  slowpitch2006logo.jpg

2006 was the first year in Austria that there was a full Slowpitch League and what a first year! Without really knowing what to expect the Wanderers set out registrations for the league and 7 teams responded and enough individuals to make an 8th. With fun as priority #1, experienced players side by side with absolute beginners the goal was accomplished in 2006. The final teams three had some great games and made the final day memorable; the Caribes took the bronze and the Tri Misions USA the silver, which left Team Japan as the first ever Spenadlwiese Slowpitch League Champions!
