2009 Tournament Recap
The Summerfest started the tournament season off once again with a one day event on the 18th of July. 5 teams competed in a round robin tournament with the team with the best record after the round robin being declared the winner. Wanderers86 needed a win against the Bad News Bears to remain undefeated and take the title. They did it with a 6-4 victory.
For the first time ever the Austrian Baseball Federation held an OPEN Slowpitch National Championship. The winner of the tournament would be declared the first ever National Champion. With 8 teams competing it was a great weekend with some tough competition. It was not until extra innings in the final game that the championship was decided and the Les Boys were declared the CHAMPIONS. Caribes finished in 2nd while the Prater Bombers finished 3rd.
On the 29th of August the Spenadlwiese held a one day tournament to support Mike Brennan legal fees. Strike Out Racism saw 6 teams battle the elements and themselves but in the end the team of hockey stars, TOTONKA , came out on top.
The Roo Bar Rumble was the last tournament of 2010 on September 12th and 13th. It was the Piratas del Caribe who finished the tournament perfect after trouncing the AIS in the Championship Game. Many thanks to the 7 teams including our friends from Trnava and a big thank you to Roo Bar !
