anbei leiten wir euch eine Einladung zur 24th European Coach Clinic, die vom 10. - 12.12. in Rotterdam stattfindet, weiter.
Diese Clinic wird von der ABF als Teil des Übungsleiterkurses anerkannt. Um die Ausbildung zum Übungsleiter abzuschließen, ist noch der entsprechende Test (Unterlagen können bei der ABF bezogen werden) bei Martin Langlois zu absolvieren.

24th EUROPEAN COACH CLINIC December 10-12, 2010
The 24th European Coach Clinic in Rotterdam is one of the best clinics in Europe. Experienced topcoaches will share their knowledgement with you during 18 sessions (14 in lecture hall of hotel and 4 in Sports Hall) about the different subjects of the game: Fundamentals of Hitting, Pitching, Catching and Outfield. Situational Hitting, Teamforming, Throwing Program, Practice Organization, Coaching and Coaching Third Base. At the end of the clinic participators will receive an Official Certificate.
Hotel
The clinic will be held in the Novotel Brainpark in Rotterdam. This hotel is a comfortable and modern hotel, situated only 10 minutes away from Rotterdams entertainment centre, with 200 rooms; bathroom with toilet, air-conditioning, mini bar, radio, direct dial phone, TV with European channels.
Rotterdam
City in the Dutch province of South Holland, situated in the west of the Netherlands. The municipality is the second largest in the country (behind Amsterdam), with a population of 600.000. The port of Rotterdam is the largest in Europe. From 1962 to 2004, it was the world's busiest port; Rotterdam is situated on the banks of the river Nieuwe Maas ('New Meuse'), one of the channels in the delta formed by the Rhine and Meuse rivers. The name Rotterdam derives from a dam in the Rotte river.
Travel
You can travel to Rotterdam by car, train or plane. BudgetAir Easyjet is flying to Rotterdam from the different locations in Europe, see
www.easyjet.com. But also travelling thru Amsterdam Airport is possible. The train ride from Amsterdam to Rotterdam is 25 minutes and cost 20 euro (roundtrip).
Clinic Leader
JIM JONES has over 45 years of baseball coaching experience at the youth, high school, college, semi-pro and international levels. Jim served as assistant coach at Stanford University before becoming head coach at the University of Wyoming and St. Mary’s College(CA). Presently he is retired from teaching and serves as President of International Sports Group, Inc. Jim was the clinic leader in 2001, 2006, 2007 and 2008. Internationally he help the development of baseball in Czech Republic, France, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia and Holland.
Speakers
REGGIE SMITH - Reggie Smith played 17 years in the Major League for the Red Sox, Dodgers, Cardinals and Giants. During his seven years with Boston Red Sox he hit 149 homeruns and drove in 536 runs, both team records for a switch hitter. He hit 314 career homeruns, won a Gold Glove Award as an outfielder , appeared in seven All-Star Games and played four World Series, winning in 1981. Reggie was voted to the all time Dodger's best team by the fans in 2008. After retiring he became the Minor League coordinator for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Later Reggie became the Dodgers' hitting instructor and first base coach. Reggie was named the hitting instructor of the United States baseball team for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney where the team USA won gold. Most recently Reggie was a team USA coach for the 2007 BWC (gold), 2008 Olympic teams and 2009 World Baseball Classic.
ANDY MCKAY – Coach McKay begins his 13th year as head coach and 18th season overall as a Panther coach at Sacramento Community College. In Andy’s first season as the Panthers skipper in 1999 his team won the California State Champions and has won the Bay Valley Conference title in five seasons. Before joining the SCC coaching staff, he spent one year as a player/coach at the University of Tampa, where he helped guide the Spartans to the Division II National Championship in Montgomery, Alabama. Coach McKay has spent the majority of his time on the field working with the pitching staff and the catchers.
STEVE JANSSEN - The former Belgium catcher started his coaching carreer in Belgium as the head coach for the national team. In 2000-2006 he was (pitching) coach for DOOR Neptunus, helping the team win National titles in 2003-2005 and in 2002-2005 Steve was the pitching coach for the Dutch national team. In 2006 honorary coach Pittsburg Pirates AAA, 2007 technical director of the Belgian Baseball Federation and honorary coach Indipendent Baseball USA, 2008 head coach for Sparta/Feyenoord, 2009 head coach for DOOR Neptunus winning their first title since 2005. Steve won the EBCA Coach of the Year Award and Dutch Coach of the Year Award in 2009. Steve is the pitching coach for the national team in 2010.
CHARLIE URBANUS - Charlie Urbanus (1955) played 131 games for the national team between 1972 and 1986. As a youth player he won the Roel de Mon Award in 1970 and Ron Fraser Award 1971. Charlie won club championships in 1979, 1980 and 1986 with Amstel Tijgers. He was “Pitcher of the Year” in 1973, 1975 and 1980 – won the “Batting Crown” in 1979 and 1981 - was “MVP” in 1973 and 1986. As a coach of Neptunus, Charlie was named “Coach of the Year” in 1991 and 1993 after championships in both years. In 1993 he won the European Cup II and in 1994 the European Cup I. From 1989 until 1991 he was the pitching coach for the national team. Charles coached Olympic team in Sydney which finished at fifth place. In 1997 Charlie was selected for the Dutch Hall of Fame. After coaching Amsterdam Pirates teams for 10 years, as of 2010 he is headcoach of L&D Amsterdam.
BRIAN FARLEY - As a pitcher Brian has played for the St. Louis Cardinals (AA). He played for teams in both Australia and the Netherlands. In the Netherlands he managed Twins Oosterhout and HCAW Bussum. With HCAW he won the National title (1998) and the European Cup (2000) and was honoured Coach of the Year (1998). Brain has been pitching coach for the Dutch National team in 1997, 2000-2002 and 2005-2008. He coached the team towards the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000) and Beijing (2008), the World Championship in Holland (2005) and Taiwan (2007), World Baseball Classic (2006) and the Intercontinental Cup (2006). Since 2009 Brian is talent coach for the Dutch federation and field manager of the Dutch Junior team.
ROBERT EENHOORN - Robert is a former player with the Yankees and Angels. Played for the Netherlands in the 1988 Seoul Olympics and 2000 Sydney Olympics. Managed Rotterdam Neptunus in 1999 and 2001 and was honoured as Coach of the Year in both years. Managed the Netherlands to a Gold Medal at the 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 European Championships, the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Benjing (2008), a forth place (!) finish in the Baseball World Cup 2005 in Holland and 2007 in Taiwan. Won a silver medal during the Intercontinental Cup 2006 in Taiwan. Managed the Netherlands during the first World Baseball Classics and is preparing for the World Baseball Classics 2009. Won the Haarlem Baseball Week in 2004 and 2006. As of 2009 he is Technical Manager of Dutch Baseball teams.
Clinic Fee
The Registration Fee is 149 euro. This fee is including clinic map, diner on Saturday, lunches on Saturday and Sunday, coffee/tea and happy-hour on Saturday.
The price for a double room is 46 euro (you share the room) and for a single room 70 euro. This is including breakfast buffet.
Special Rate for Foreign Participators: When register for 4 persons the Rate is 600 euro, including hotel (two double rooms). Ask your local gouverment if there is a financial contribution for coach development available!
